Can anyone guess what I had for a snack on Saturday??
Well hence its a Tuesday morning after the long weekend & I’m posting mozzarella sticks – somebody musta had a healthy eating weekend!! *wink, wink*
When you eat these mozzarella sticks, you’re not going to be feeling guilty AT ALL!
At only 29 calories per mozza stick, not only will your taste buds love these, but your waist line will thank you too!!
Makes: 18 mozzarella sticks
- 1/3 cup bread crumbs
- 6 part-skim mozzarella cheese strings
- 1/4 cup egg whites
- 1/4 cup lower-sodium mariana sauce
- Pam Cooking Spray
Grab 2 small bowls, fill one with bread crumbs and the other with egg whites. Set aside.
Slice each cheese string into 3 bite sized pieces.
Spray pam onto baking dish and set oven on 350 degrees.
Ok, – back to those cheese strings. Doing one piece at a time, dip cheese string into egg white & cover completely. Then roll into bread crumbs – being sure to cover entire cheese string.
Place onto baking pan.
*bake in oven for 12 minutes – or so – watch out for the cheese dribble!
Tip: When I use bread crumbs, I use one hand for dipping into the egg & the opposite hand to roll into bread crumbs. This helps to not soak the bread crumbs and make them impossible to work with.
Serve immediately with mariana sauce.
