Rock Hard Abs; Gimme that Coffin Crunch

Ooohhhhh the much dreaded coffin crunch.

You don’t see a lot of this exercise on KF because….well…I hate them.

They burn!!! lolz!

Maybe it’s not the exercise I hate; I just totally dislike working abs…..

But thanks to exercises such as; squats, walking lunges, knee raises, & of course my go to all around best leg/butt/ab exercise, the amazing deadlift….I work my abs.

(ooh…& the cable crunch machine at the gym – because other than that, I’m brutal)

I mean, the workouts I post on KF usually include ab-focused exercises, but other than these types of workouts, I never add “crunches” into my workout routine. I just can’t.

I don’t know why.
But I’m sure you can understand as we all have areas we dislike working more than others.

>>>>Leg day ring a bell anybody? ‘Cause I know there’s a lot of “leg day haters” out there! Lolz!

The Coffin Crunch Explained:

Begin lying supine, totally flat on the ground. Cross your arms over your chest, keeping your hands over your shoulders. From here use your abdominals (really suck that belly to the floor – get those transverse abdominals working !!!) & pull yourself up until you are completely sitting up straight. Lower & repeat.

The hard part is raising your upper body to the full sitting position without moving your legs…..or feet….at all.

This exercise LOOKS super easy! Believe me, it is not….
BUT…if you do it, & you think it’s easy for you…then I’ve got a challenge for you!

Challenge Yourself

Complete the following exercise for a total of 50 reps.

Then, for an added butt bonus; complete 50 of these {25 per leg}

Then complete as many coffin crunches you can until failure.

Then, if you want to….come back & challenge me with your reps.

It’s up to you…!! I love a good challenge!
